Job Description

Refugee Action UK is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Public Sector Asylum & Refugee Support Worker to join our team in Bristol. This entry-level role requires no prior experience as full, comprehensive training will be provided to equip you with all the skills and knowledge needed to excel. You will play a crucial role in supporting individuals and families navigating the asylum process and settling into life in the UK. Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical and emotional support to asylum seekers and refugees, assisting with their immediate needs.
- Help clients access essential services such as housing, healthcare, education, and legal aid.
- Assist with completing necessary paperwork and understanding complex processes related to asylum claims and benefits.
- Act as a first point of contact, offering empathetic listening and guidance.
- Advocate for clients' rights and needs within relevant public sector systems.
- Support clients in developing independence and integrating into local communities.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in line with data protection guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to ensure holistic client support.
- Attend regular training and supervision sessions to enhance professional development and well-being.

- Knowledge of the UK asylum system or public services (desirable, but not essential as training is provided).
- A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
