Job Description
Are you looking for an opportunity to contribute to your community this holiday season? Canada Post is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals for the role of Seasonal Postal Clerk / Sorter in Grand Bay-Westfield. No prior experience is required, as we provide comprehensive training to ensure your success. This is a crucial role responsible for the efficient sorting and processing of mail and parcels, playing a key part in ensuring timely delivery during our busiest period. Key Responsibilities
- Sort mail and parcels according to established procedures and routes.
- Load and unload mail sacks, containers, and other mail processing equipment.
- Operate basic mail processing machinery (training provided).
- Prepare mail for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support postal operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Basic communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or fast-paced environment (not required, but an asset).
- Familiarity with Grand Bay-Westfield and surrounding areas.
