Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Athletic Director / Head Coach with a strong focus on International Sponsorship to lead our athletic programs. This pivotal role involves overseeing the strategic development and day-to-day operations of our sports department, while also actively pursuing and managing international sponsorship opportunities to enhance our athletic offerings and global presence. The successful candidate will be responsible for coaching various sports, mentoring student-athletes, and driving initiatives that promote both athletic achievement and international collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the athletic department, aligning with university goals.
- Actively identify, cultivate, and secure international sponsorship opportunities to fund athletic programs and initiatives.
- Manage budgets, resources, and facilities effectively to ensure optimal performance and athlete support.
- Serve as Head Coach for one or more university sports teams, providing expert coaching, training, and competitive strategy.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop student-athletes, fostering a culture of sportsmanship, academic excellence, and personal growth.
- Oversee the compliance with national and international athletic regulations and university policies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and international sports organizations.
- Organize and manage athletic events, competitions, and international tours.
- Promote the university's athletic programs to prospective students, sponsors, and the wider community.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in athletic program management and coaching at a university or equivalent level.
- Demonstrable success in securing sponsorships or fundraising, particularly within an international context.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of sports administration, coaching methodologies, and athlete development.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including international students and partners.
- Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in budget management and financial oversight.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Sports Management, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in specific coaching disciplines.
- Established network within international sports organizations or educational institutions.
- Experience with international student recruitment in sports.
- Fluency in additional languages.
