Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Landscape Architect to join our dynamic team in York. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and delivery of a diverse range of landscape projects, from conceptual master planning to detailed design and construction supervision. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on projects that contribute positively to communities and the environment, within a globally recognized firm known for its innovation and commitment to sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop conceptual and detailed landscape designs, including hardscape and softscape elements.
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports using CAD software.
- Conduct site analysis, research, and evaluate environmental impacts.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including urban planners, engineers, and architects.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations, effectively communicating design concepts.
- Oversee project progression from initial concept through to construction completion.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant legislation, policies, and quality standards.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in landscape architecture.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
- Strong understanding of planting design, ecology, and sustainable landscape principles.
- Excellent graphic communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Right to work in the UK.
Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI) or working towards chartership.
- Experience with 3D modeling software (e.g., SketchUp, Rhino).
- Knowledge of UK planning policies and landscape assessment methodologies.
- Experience in public realm, infrastructure, or heritage landscape projects.
