Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Engage directly with community members to provide information, address concerns, and build positive relationships.
- Assist police officers with non-urgent tasks, freeing them to focus on critical incidents.
- Patrol designated areas on foot or by vehicle to maintain public order and deter crime.
- Attend and support community events, acting as a representative of the Police Department.
- Provide initial assistance at incident scenes, including managing crowds and directing traffic.
- Conduct safety checks and offer crime prevention advice to residents and businesses.
- Document and report non-criminal incidents and observations to appropriate personnel.
- Support victims and witnesses of crime by providing comfort and guidance to relevant services.

- High level of integrity and ethical conduct
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications

- Basic computer proficiency
- Previous volunteer experience in community service or public safety
- Knowledge of the Lakeland area and its communities
- Ability to speak multiple languages (beneficial but not required)
