Job Description

The CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale is excited to offer a unique opportunity for a Trainee Social Worker Assistant. This government-funded training program is designed for individuals with no prior experience in the field who are eager to learn and contribute to their community. You will receive comprehensive training and mentorship, working alongside experienced social workers to provide essential support services to individuals and families in need. This role is an excellent stepping stone for a rewarding career, equipping you with practical skills and knowledge in a professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist social workers in coordinating and delivering support services to clients.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records under supervision.
- Help clients navigate community resources and access appropriate services.
- Provide administrative support to the social work team, including scheduling and correspondence.
- Participate in client assessments and intervention planning meetings.
- Observe and learn various social work methodologies and practices.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Adhere to professional ethics, standards, and organizational policies.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong empathetic and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic computer proficiency (e.g., word processing, email).
- Eagerness to learn and commitment to professional development.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Fluency in French (oral and written) is required due to client interaction in Quebec.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior volunteer experience in a social services or community setting.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset.
- Demonstrated interest in social justice and community well-being.
- Some post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., human sciences, psychology) is a plus.
