Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Rural Store Assistant to join our team in Alice Springs. This ongoing full-time position is perfect for someone with a strong work ethic and a passion for supporting the agricultural sector. As a Rural Store Assistant, you will be a key part of our branch operations, assisting customers with their farming supply needs, managing inventory, and maintaining a welcoming and efficient store environment. Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service, assisting customers with product inquiries and sales
- Operate the point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently
- Receive, unpack, and organise stock, ensuring proper rotation and merchandising
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised store environment, including shelving and display areas
- Assist with general store duties, including opening and closing procedures
- Support the team with stocktakes and inventory management tasks
- Process orders and assist with the dispatch of goods to customers
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations
Required Skills
- Strong customer service skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn new systems
- Physical capability to lift and move merchandise (up to 20kg)
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
- Attention to detail and accuracy in tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service role is an advantage
- An interest in or basic understanding of agriculture or rural supplies
- Current Australian Driver's License
- Forklift license (or willingness to obtain)
