Job Description

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of primary/elementary students? Kumon Education is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Remote Online Tutors to join our team. This is a flexible, part-time opportunity where you can set your own schedule and work from the comfort of your home. As an Online Tutor, you will guide students aged 5-11 through our unique Mathematics and English programs, focusing on foundational skills, critical thinking, and self-learning. This fully remote role provides a rewarding opportunity to support young learners in building confidence and achieving academic success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective one-on-one or small group online tutoring sessions for primary/elementary students.
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching methods to individual learning needs.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with students, parents, and Kumon staff regarding student development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and completed assignments.
  • Ensure a positive, supportive, and motivating online learning environment.
  • Adhere to Kumon's educational philosophy, curriculum guidelines, and safeguarding policies.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 6 months experience working with primary/elementary aged children in an educational or coaching capacity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly with young children and their parents.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of primary/elementary level Mathematics and English curriculum (ages 5-11).
  • Proficiency in using online conferencing tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet) and digital educational platforms.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for teaching and student development.
  • Reliable internet connection, a functioning computer/tablet, and a quiet home working environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, a related field, or currently pursuing one.
  • Previous experience in online tutoring, teaching, or classroom assistance.
  • Familiarity with the Kumon Method or similar individualized learning approaches.
  • Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development for primary education.
