Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Logistics Manager to oversee and optimize our supply chain operations in Belfast. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring our overall logistics strategy to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and a proven track record in managing complex logistics processes within a fast-paced environment. You will lead a dedicated team, ensuring all inbound and outbound logistics run smoothly and adhere to both company standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement robust logistics strategies to improve overall efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee the entire supply chain, including warehousing, transportation, and inventory management.
- Manage and lead a team of logistics professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Negotiate with carriers, suppliers, and external partners to secure favourable terms and services.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and customs regulations.
- Utilize logistics software and tools to track shipments, manage inventory, and optimize routes.
- Identify and resolve logistics issues, such as shipping delays, damages, or cost discrepancies.
- Prepare and present regular reports on logistics performance, costs, and strategic initiatives to senior management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Logistics Manager or similar role (minimum 3 years)
- Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes and best practices.
- Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., WMS, TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- A full UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., CILT, APICS).
- Experience with international shipping and customs procedures.
- Lean Six Sigma certification.
