Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Manager/Director to join our dynamic team in Exeter. This pivotal role involves providing comprehensive tax advice to a diverse portfolio of clients, managing complex tax engagements, and leading a team of dedicated tax professionals. You will be instrumental in advising on international tax implications, ensuring compliance, and identifying strategic tax planning opportunities. Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of corporate and international tax clients, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of tax compliance and advisory services.
- Lead and develop a team of tax professionals, providing mentorship, performance reviews, and technical guidance.
- Provide expert advice on complex international tax issues, including cross-border transactions, transfer pricing, and permanent establishment considerations.
- Identify and implement tax planning opportunities to optimize clients' tax positions while ensuring full compliance with current legislation.
- Review and approve corporate tax returns, computations, and various tax reports.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Assist in business development activities, including identifying new client opportunities and preparing proposals.
- Keep abreast of changes in tax legislation and regulations, both domestic and international, advising clients and internal teams accordingly.
Required Skills
- ACA, CTA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Proven experience in corporate tax, with a strong focus on international tax issues, gained within a professional services firm or in-house.
- Deep understanding of UK and international tax principles and legislation.
- Excellent client relationship management and communication skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Taxation or a related field.
- Experience with US GAAP or IFRS tax accounting.
- Second language proficiency relevant to international business.
- Proven track record in business development and expanding client portfolios.
