Job Description

CGI is seeking a dedicated and proactive Cybersecurity Analyst to join our dynamic team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. As a Cybersecurity Analyst, you will play a crucial role in protecting CGI’s information systems and data from evolving cyber threats. You will be involved in monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to security incidents, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our digital assets. This is a hybrid role, offering a blend of on-site collaboration and remote work flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security alerts and events from various security systems (SIEM, EDR, etc.).
  • Perform initial triage, investigation, and analysis of security incidents.
  • Execute incident response procedures, including containment, eradication, and recovery.
  • Maintain and update security documentation, including incident playbooks and operational procedures.
  • Assist in vulnerability management activities, including scanning and reporting.
  • Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement security best practices.
  • Provide support during security audits and assessments.
  • Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for critical security incidents as required.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a cybersecurity role, such as Security Operations Center (SOC) analyst, incident responder, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001), and best practices.
  • Proficiency with security monitoring tools (SIEM platforms like Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel).
  • Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and network security concepts (firewalls, IDS/IPS).
  • Experience with operating systems security (Windows, Linux).
  • Basic understanding of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation and analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CEH, GIAC certifications).
  • Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
  • Previous experience working in a global or multi-national environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, PIPEDA).
