Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Gastroenterology Doctor to join our growing team at Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound. Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions.
- Perform various endoscopic procedures including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and ERCP.
- Manage acute and chronic GI conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Collaborate effectively with primary care physicians and other specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in departmental on-call rotations as required.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely patient records in compliance with medical standards.
- Engage in continuous professional development and medical education activities.
- Contribute actively to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives within the department and hospital.
Required Skills
- Medical Degree (MD or equivalent) from a recognized university.
- Completion of a Fellowship in Gastroenterology from an accredited institution.
- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
- Demonstrated excellent clinical diagnostic and therapeutic skills in gastroenterology.
- Proven proficiency in performing a variety of endoscopic procedures.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Commitment to providing patient-centered care with empathy and professionalism.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience practicing as a Gastroenterologist in a similar setting.
- Experience working within a Canadian healthcare system.
- Teaching or research experience in gastroenterology.
- Proficiency in additional languages relevant to the local population.
