Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable individual to join our team as a Carpet Roll Mover in our Pimlico warehouse. This is a heavy lifting role essential to our operations, involving the safe and efficient movement of large and often very heavy carpet rolls. You will be responsible for loading, unloading, and organizing inventory, ensuring our warehouse remains orderly and our products are ready for dispatch. Full training will be provided to ensure you are confident and competent in all aspects of the role, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in logistics with a global leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently move large and heavy carpet rolls within the warehouse using manual and mechanical aids as directed.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying accuracy against documentation.
- Organize and store carpet rolls in designated racks and areas, maintaining an organized and accessible inventory.
- Conduct routine checks on materials for damage and report any discrepancies or issues.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper lifting techniques and equipment operation.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and hazard-free work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth warehouse operations and meet daily targets.
Required Skills
- Ability to safely lift and move heavy objects (up to 25kg regularly, with team lifts for heavier items).
- Strong physical stamina, endurance, and manual dexterity.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Basic understanding of English for safety instructions and communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or manual labor environment.
- Experience operating manual pallet jacks or similar warehouse equipment.
- Forklift operator certification (though not required for this specific role, it is a plus for future opportunities).
