Job Description
We are seeking an energetic and reliable individual to join our Red Deer team as a Bottle Return Machine Emptier. In this active role, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe handling of all returned containers, ensuring the bottle return area remains clean, organized, and fully operational for our customers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment and is looking for a role with immediate start and on-the-job training.
Key Responsibilities
- Regularly monitor and empty bottle return machines, ensuring continuous service availability for customers.
- Sort and organize returned bottles and cans into designated bins or bags according to company guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and safe bottle return area, including sweeping, wiping down surfaces, and managing spills.
- Operate compacting equipment safely and efficiently when required.
- Assist customers with questions regarding bottle returns or machine operation.
- Adhere to all store policies and safety procedures.
- Communicate any equipment issues or supply needs to management promptly.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically active tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Excellent attention to detail for sorting and organizing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment is an asset, but not required.
- Familiarity with waste management or recycling processes.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
