Job Description
We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager to join our dynamic finance team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. This is a critical role that will drive financial performance through insightful analysis, strategic planning, and robust forecasting. The FP&A Manager will be responsible for leading the annual budgeting process, developing long-range financial plans, and providing comprehensive financial reports to senior leadership. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic decision-making and business growth initiatives.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports, presentations, and dashboards for senior management and stakeholders.
- Analyze financial performance, identify key trends, variances, and risks, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data, understand business drivers, and improve financial literacy across the organization.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as required to support business initiatives.
- Continuously improve financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities.
- Mentor and develop junior finance team members.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of progressive experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) or a similar finance role.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA, CFA, or MBA designation.
- Experience with financial planning software (e.g., Anaplan, Hyperion, SAP BPC).
- Experience in the IT consulting or technology industry.
- Knowledge of Canadian GAAP and financial regulations.
