Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor to join our dedicated team in Buffalo, NY. This critical role involves overseeing the daily maintenance operations, ensuring the airworthiness of aircraft, and leading a team of experienced technicians. The successful candidate will be responsible for upholding the highest safety standards, complying with all FAA regulations, and driving operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of aircraft maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork.
- Oversee and inspect all maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities on various aircraft systems and components.
- Ensure strict adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), company policies, and best industry practices.
- Develop and manage maintenance schedules, allocate resources effectively, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Conduct regular performance reviews for team members and provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues, providing expert guidance and hands-on assistance when needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed maintenance records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments, including flight operations, engineering, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless operations.
- Implement and enforce safety procedures to maintain a secure working environment for all personnel.
Required Skills
- Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in aircraft maintenance.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory or lead mechanic role.
- Thorough knowledge of FAA regulations (FARs), manufacturer's manuals, and industry standards.
- Demonstrated strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex aircraft system discrepancies.
- Proficiency in using maintenance tracking software and computer systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic aviation environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Maintenance, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience with wide-body commercial aircraft types (e.g., Boeing 737, Airbus A320, A330, A350 families).
- Lean Six Sigma certification or experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
- Project management experience in an MRO or airline environment.
