Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Remote Freight Broker Agent to join our dynamic team. This is a 100% remote position where you will be responsible for managing and growing your own book of business by connecting shippers with carriers to move freight efficiently. You will act as a crucial link in the supply chain, negotiating rates, coordinating logistics, and ensuring seamless transportation for our clients. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to understand their freight needs.
- Prospect for new business opportunities and generate leads through various channels.
- Negotiate competitive freight rates with both shippers and carriers to maximize profitability.
- Source and qualify reliable carriers to ensure safe and timely delivery of goods.
- Monitor shipments from origin to destination, providing proactive communication and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Maintain accurate records of all customer and carrier interactions, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Utilize C.H. Robinson's proprietary technology and industry tools to manage operations effectively.
- Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly sales and margin targets.
Required Skills
- 1+ year of experience in sales, customer service, or a related field, preferably within logistics or transportation.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Prior experience as a freight broker or agent.
- Familiarity with CRM software and transportation management systems (TMS).
- Existing book of business or strong network within the logistics industry.
