Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Equine Veterinarian / Surgeon to join our growing team in Irvine, CA. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive equine physical examinations, diagnostics, and treatments.
- Conduct a wide range of surgical procedures, including soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries.
- Manage medical cases, including lameness evaluations, internal medicine, and ophthalmology.
- Provide emergency and critical care services for equine patients.
- Develop and implement preventative health programs for horses.
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with horse owners, providing clear explanations of diagnoses, prognoses, and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure efficient patient care.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with advancements in equine veterinary medicine.
Required Skills
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Current and valid veterinary license in California (or eligible for licensure).
- Proven experience in equine medicine and surgery.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage a diverse caseload.
- Compassion and dedication to animal welfare.
Preferred Qualifications
- Board certification or residency training in Equine Surgery or Internal Medicine.
- Experience with advanced diagnostic imaging (e.g., MRI, CT, scintigraphy).
- Experience with telemedicine or remote consultations.
- Fluency in additional languages.
