Job Description
As a Quantitative Developer at Aviva, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and maintaining sophisticated quantitative models and tools used across various financial products and risk management frameworks. This role requires a strong background in mathematics, statistics, and programming, with a focus on delivering robust and efficient solutions. You will collaborate closely with quants, traders, and risk managers to translate complex analytical requirements into practical, production-ready systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and implement quantitative models and algorithms in Python, C++, or similar languages.
- Contribute to the design and architecture of our quantitative libraries and analytical platforms.
- Ensure the accuracy, robustness, and performance of pricing models, risk calculations, and simulation tools.
- Collaborate with quantitative analysts to understand model specifications and ensure correct implementation.
- Perform code reviews, maintain documentation, and adhere to best development practices.
- Support the integration of quantitative tools into broader IT systems and data pipelines.
- Identify and resolve technical issues and model discrepancies.
Required Skills
- Strong programming proficiency in Python, C++, or C#.
- Solid understanding of financial mathematics, stochastic calculus, and numerical methods.
- Experience with statistical analysis and data manipulation libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, SciPy).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and distributed computing.
- Knowledge of specific financial products (e.g., derivatives, fixed income, equity).
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
- Experience with database technologies (SQL/NoSQL).
