Job Description

Are you passionate about textiles and eager to learn the foundational skills of weaving and loom operation? The John Lewis Partnership is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Textile Weaving & Loom Operation Intern to join our team in Falkirk. This is an unparalleled opportunity for an entry-level individual with no prior experience to gain practical, hands-on training in a real-world manufacturing environment. You will be fully trained on various types of weaving looms, textile materials, and quality control processes, contributing to the development and evaluation of high-quality fabrics that define our brand’s reputation. Key Responsibilities

  • Receive full training on the safe and efficient operation of various weaving looms.
  • Assist with the preparation of looms, including threading, tensioning, and warp beam loading.
  • Learn to identify and resolve common loom issues and fabric defects.
  • Monitor weaving processes to ensure quality standards and production schedules are met.
  • Support the team in material handling, inventory, and organization of the weaving area.
  • Participate in quality control checks of woven fabrics, documenting observations.
  • Contribute to a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Undertake ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned to support textile development and production.
