Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Senior Social Worker to join our Adult Social Care team in Carlisle. Key Responsibilities
- Manage a complex caseload of adult service users, conducting comprehensive assessments and reviews.
- Develop and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with individuals, families, and multi-agency partners.
- Provide expert advice, guidance, and support to social work assistants and newly qualified social workers.
- Lead on safeguarding adult enquiries, ensuring prompt and effective interventions to protect vulnerable individuals.
- Participate in duty rotas and contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with statutory requirements and council policies.
- Represent the council in relevant meetings, panels, and court proceedings as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a qualified Social Worker, specifically within Adult Social Care.
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Thorough understanding of relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Safeguarding Adults guidance.
- Excellent assessment, analytical, and report writing skills.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-qualification award in Social Work (e.g., Practice Educator, AMHP qualification).
- Experience in supervising or mentoring other social work professionals.
- Knowledge of local resources and services within Cumbria.
- Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
