Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Radiographer / Sonographer to join our team at the Hinton Healthcare Centre. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient care in a vibrant community setting. The successful candidate will perform a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures, including general radiography and sonography, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures including general radiography and sonography following established protocols.
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring proper calibration and safety standards.
- Position patients correctly for optimal image acquisition, explaining procedures clearly to ensure cooperation.
- Evaluate images for technical quality, proper labeling, and accurate anatomical representation.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, radiation protection guidelines, and infection control standards.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training opportunities.
Required Skills
- Completion of an accredited program in Medical Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
- Current registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) or eligibility for registration.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Radiographer and/or Sonographer.
- Proficiency in performing general radiography and sonography examinations.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced certifications in specific imaging modalities (e.g., vascular sonography).
- Experience with PACS and RIS systems.
- Previous experience working in a rural or community hospital setting.
