Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Cruise Ship Director for a pivotal land-based role in Wolverhampton. This is a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in cruise operations and guest experience from a strategic shore-side position, influencing the success of our global fleet without living at sea. As a Land-Based Cruise Ship Director, you will be instrumental in supporting and enhancing the operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, and crew welfare across our cruise lines. This role requires exceptional leadership, strong organizational skills, and a deep understanding of the cruise industry. Sponsorship is available for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the strategic planning and execution of operational directives for the cruise fleet from a land-based perspective.
- Act as a crucial liaison between shore-side management and shipboard teams, ensuring seamless communication and alignment on operational goals.
- Develop and implement innovative strategies to enhance guest experience, operational efficiency, and crew satisfaction.
- Monitor performance metrics, analyze feedback, and generate reports to continuously improve service delivery and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant international maritime regulations, company policies, and health & safety standards.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively, optimizing spend while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Provide guidance and support to shipboard leadership, including training, performance management, and career development initiatives.
- Lead crisis management and problem-solving efforts for complex operational issues, ensuring swift and effective resolutions.
- Contribute to the development of new itineraries, onboard programs, and guest services.
- Support recruitment and onboarding processes for shipboard management roles.
Required Skills
- Proven leadership and management experience, ideally within the cruise, hospitality, or travel industry.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and collaborating across all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A deep understanding of international maritime regulations and safety standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant operational software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Maritime Operations, or a related field.
- Previous experience as a Cruise Director or in a senior management role on a cruise ship.
- Experience in a land-based operational support role for a cruise line.
- Multilingual capabilities are highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience in budget management and cost control.
