Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our team in Yuma, AZ. This is an incredible opportunity for a qualified educator passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs. As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for creating tailored educational plans, providing direct instruction, and collaborating with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure our students receive the highest quality education and support. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special educational needs.
- Provide direct, differentiated instruction to students in various settings, including inclusive classrooms and resource rooms.
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies to meet individual learning goals.
- Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, parents, administrators, and support personnel.
- Maintain accurate and compliant student records and documentation.
- Participate in IEP meetings, case conferences, and other school-based meetings.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and materials to engage students and accommodate different learning styles.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field.
- Valid teaching license/certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain).
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse student populations and learning disabilities.
- Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Special Education.
- Experience with specific special education methodologies (e.g., ABA, PECS, Orton-Gillingham).
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish).
- Experience in a K-8 educational setting.
