Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA/QC) Engineer to join our operations in Goderich, Ontario. This role is crucial for maintaining the high standards of our product quality and operational processes within our dynamic manufacturing and mining environment. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and monitoring quality control systems to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process production, and finished products.
  • Identify, document, and track non-conformities and collaborate with production teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Analyze quality data to identify trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Prepare detailed reports on quality performance, including defect rates, testing results, and compliance metrics.
  • Ensure all products and processes adhere to relevant industry standards, company specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in training production staff on quality control procedures and best practices.
  • Participate in internal and external audits to ensure ongoing compliance and certification.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial), Quality Management, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role, preferably in manufacturing, mining, or heavy industry.
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC methodologies, tools, and processes (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
  • Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Quality Assurance (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt).
  • Experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Familiarity with specific industry regulations or standards relevant to mining or chemical processing.
  • Proficiency with quality management software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
