Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart a rewarding career in construction but have no prior experience? PCL Construction is actively seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Construction Labourers. This is an incredible entry-level opportunity where you will receive comprehensive training, including all necessary safety certifications, to ensure you are well-equipped for success. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience on various construction projects across Surrey and the surrounding Lower Mainland. Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespersons (e.g., carpenters, masons, electricians) with various tasks on site.
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment safely.
- Perform site clean-up and maintain an organized, hazard-free work environment.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under direct supervision after receiving proper training.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, site rules, and environmental regulations.
- Support groundwork activities, including digging, compacting, and preparing forms.
- Follow instructions from forepersons and supervisors to ensure efficient project progress.
- Participate in daily safety briefings and contribute to a safety-conscious culture.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Eagerness to learn new skills and adapt to various work environments.
- Commitment to upholding high safety standards at all times.
- Basic communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in any manual labour role (e.g., landscaping, warehouse, general labour).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to various job sites.
