Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Wind Farm Maintenance Technician to join our growing team in the Leeds region. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a crucial role in maintaining the operational excellence of our wind turbine fleet, ensuring maximum energy production and reliability. We are open to providing sponsorship for suitable candidates who demonstrate the required technical aptitude and commitment. You will be responsible for the routine inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wind turbine generators and associated equipment, adhering strictly to safety protocols and operational guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on wind turbine mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults.
- Execute repairs and replacements of components as required, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
- Conduct thorough inspections of turbine components and report on their condition.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, fault reports, and part usage.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to urgent operational issues.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and site management.
- Complete mandatory training and development programs.
Required Skills
- Proven technical background in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
- Valid UK driving license or equivalent international license.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant vocational qualification or technical diploma (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering).
- Experience working with heavy machinery, industrial equipment, or power generation systems.
- GWO (Global Wind Organisation) Basic Safety Training certification (can be obtained post-hire).
- Familiarity with SCADA systems or other diagnostic software.
- Previous experience in a wind energy or renewable energy environment.
