Job Description

Superior Sweet Producers, a proud local maple syrup producer in Thunder Bay, is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our seasonal team as a Maple Syrup Bottling Laborer. This is a temporary, full-time role perfect for those who enjoy a dynamic, hands-on work environment and are comfortable working in warm conditions during our peak bottling season. No prior experience is required; we provide comprehensive training to all new team members. You will play a crucial role in our production line, ensuring our delicious maple syrup is bottled and packaged with care and precision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor bottling and capping machinery for maple syrup products.
  • Load and unload bottles onto production lines efficiently and safely.
  • Inspect bottles and labels for quality assurance, identifying and removing any defective products.
  • Package finished products into boxes, ensuring proper labeling and sealing for shipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering strictly to food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Assist with general production tasks as needed to support overall operational flow.
  • Follow all safety protocols and company procedures diligently to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily and weekly production targets.
  • Monitor inventory levels of bottling supplies and report needs to supervisors.

Required Skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a warm, fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks consistently.
  • Physical capability to lift and move up to 25 lbs regularly throughout the shift.
  • Demonstrated reliable attendance and punctuality is essential for team success.
  • Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Possess a positive attitude and a strong willingness to learn new processes and skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or food processing environment is a plus, though not required.
  • Familiarity with basic food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
  • A valid G driver's license for potential occasional errands, if applicable.
