Job Description
We are seeking a highly strategic and experienced Procurement Director to lead our procurement initiatives and optimize our global supply chain operations. This pivotal role will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing key supplier relationships, and driving cost efficiencies across the organization, particularly within our dynamic biotechnology environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in strategic sourcing, negotiation, and contract management, with a proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute global procurement strategies aligned with Moderna’s business objectives and growth plans.
- Lead the negotiation of complex contracts with key suppliers, ensuring favorable terms, quality, and delivery.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers, fostering strong, collaborative relationships to secure critical resources.
- Drive cost savings and value creation initiatives across all procurement categories, including R&D, manufacturing, and G&A.
- Implement best-in-class procurement processes and systems to enhance efficiency and transparency.
- Manage supplier performance, conduct regular business reviews, and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Manufacturing, Finance, and Legal teams to support project timelines and operational needs.
- Mentor and develop a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.
