Job Description
We are seeking a highly reliable and trustworthy Government Archival Transport Driver to join our team in New Braunfels, TX. This critical role involves the secure transportation of sensitive government archives and documents between facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of all transported materials, adhering to strict security protocols, and maintaining a meticulous driving record. This is a vital position that requires exceptional attention to detail, a strong sense of responsibility, and an impeccable background.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and securely transport government archival materials and documents to designated locations.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and company safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting any issues.
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle maintenance.
- Ensure the security and confidentiality of all transported materials at all times.
- Follow established routes and schedules, adapting as necessary with communication to dispatch.
- Assist with loading and unloading of archival boxes, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members.
- Maintain a clean driving record and professional demeanor.
Required Skills
- Valid Class C (or equivalent) Driver's License.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience or extensive personal driving history demonstrating reliability.
- Impeccable driving record with no major violations.
- Ability to pass comprehensive background checks and drug screenings.
- Strong understanding of secure handling procedures for sensitive materials.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy boxes (up to 50 lbs) and perform repetitive tasks.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in secure transport or logistics for government entities.
- Familiarity with local New Braunfels and surrounding Central Texas routes.
- Experience operating various vehicle types, including vans and small trucks.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle troubleshooting.
