Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech & Language Therapist (SLT) to join our team for the upcoming academic year. This is a school-based position focused on providing comprehensive speech and language services to students across various age groups. The ideal candidate will be passionate about making a difference in children’s lives, possess excellent clinical skills, and be able to collaborate effectively with educators and families. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for students to identify communication disorders and determine eligibility for services.
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with communication disorders, ensuring goals are measurable and relevant.
  • Provide direct and indirect speech and language therapy services to students in individual, small group, and classroom settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to integrate therapy goals into the classroom curriculum and home environment.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional development activities.
  • Educate parents and school staff on communication development and strategies to support student learning.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.

Required Skills

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited program.
  • Eligibility for or current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Montana.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA or actively pursuing CCCs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practices in speech and language therapy.
  • Strong assessment, diagnostic, and intervention skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse student populations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a school-based setting.
  • Experience with various communication disorders, including articulation, fluency, voice, and pragmatic language.
  • Familiarity with special education laws and regulations (IDEA).
  • Experience with assistive technology and alternative/augmentative communication (AAC) devices.
