Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Veterinary Receptionist to join our busy clinic in Aberdeen. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our clients, playing a crucial role in creating a welcoming and efficient environment. This position requires excellent organizational skills, a friendly demeanor, and a genuine love for animals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greeting clients and their pets warmly upon arrival.
  • Managing appointment scheduling and client registrations.
  • Answering phones, responding to emails, and handling general inquiries.
  • Processing payments and managing billing procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate client and patient records.
  • Assisting with the upkeep and tidiness of the reception area.
  • Providing support to veterinary nurses and surgeons as needed.
  • Educating clients on basic pet care products and services.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a customer service or administrative role (minimum 1 year).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency with office software and comfortable learning new systems.
  • A genuine passion for animal welfare.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or medical office setting.
  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology.
  • Experience with practice management software (e.g., VetSpace, RoboVet).
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Customer Service or Business Administration.
