Job Description
Are you a true animal lover with a passion for the outdoors? Pets at Home is looking for enthusiastic and reliable Dog Walkers to join our growing team in Canterbury, Kent. This rewarding role involves providing professional and caring dog walking services to our valued customers’ pets, ensuring they receive the exercise, stimulation, and attention they need. If you’re dependable, enjoy being active, and have a natural rapport with dogs, we want to hear from you! Full training and support will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely walk dogs of various breeds and sizes in all weather conditions.
- Manage multiple dogs effectively during group walks or provide focused individual attention.
- Adhere to established walking routes and schedules.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all dogs under your care.
- Provide fresh water and basic care (e.g., towel drying muddy paws) as needed.
- Communicate regularly with pet owners regarding their dog's activities and any observations.
- Maintain a clean and tidy walking environment, including responsible waste disposal.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety protocols.
Required Skills
- Genuine love for animals, especially dogs.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Physical fitness and ability to walk for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- A positive attitude and a commitment to animal welfare.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with animals (volunteer or professional).
- Knowledge of basic dog first aid.
- Relevant pet care qualifications or certifications.
- Valid UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Ability to manage small groups of dogs.
