Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and empathetic Fair Work Support Officer to join our dynamic Industrial Relations team. This role is crucial in providing essential support and guidance on complex workplace matters, ensuring compliance with Australian industrial relations legislation, including the Fair Work Act. The successful candidate will assist clients and internal teams with inquiries, documentation, and case management, contributing to the fair resolution of workplace disputes and the promotion of best practice employment standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level support and advice to clients on Fair Work Act provisions, awards, agreements, and workplace policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of detailed advice, reports, and correspondence related to industrial relations matters.
  • Manage and track client inquiries and cases, ensuring timely and accurate responses and resolutions.
  • Support senior Industrial Relations consultants in conciliation, mediation, and tribunal proceedings.
  • Conduct research on industrial relations legislation, case law, and industry benchmarks.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all interactions and case details.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of training materials on Fair Work compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a consistent and high-quality service delivery.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated understanding of Australian industrial relations principles and the Fair Work Act.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Strong research and analytical capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification in Law, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a support role within an HR, legal, or industrial relations context.
  • Experience with case management systems.
  • Membership in relevant professional associations.
