Job Description

Are you looking to kickstart your career in healthcare? St John of God Health Care is offering a unique, paid Medical Scribe Internship opportunity in Fremantle. This program is designed for highly motivated individuals with a strong interest in medicine, who are eager to learn and contribute to a fast-paced clinical environment. No prior medical experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided to equip you with the skills needed to excel in this vital role. As a Medical Scribe Intern, you will work closely with physicians, documenting patient encounters in real-time and gaining invaluable exposure to medical terminology, patient care, and clinical workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accompany physicians during patient examinations and accurately document all aspects of the encounter in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Transcribe patient histories, physical exams, diagnostic tests, treatment plans, and physician consultations.
  • Locate and retrieve patient medical records and diagnostic results as requested by the physician.
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to all relevant privacy regulations.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed to ensure efficient clinic operations.
  • Learn and master medical terminology, procedures, and relevant billing codes through provided training.
