Job Description
Are you an early riser with a passion for fresh baked goods? Publix Super Markets in Venice, FL is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant to join our vibrant team. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and contributing to the creation of delicious bakery items that delight our customers daily. You’ll be instrumental in preparing, baking, and merchandising our wide array of breads, pastries, and desserts, ensuring every item meets our high standards of quality and freshness. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare various bakery products, including mixing doughs, shaping breads, and decorating cakes according to Publix recipes and standards.
- Operate bakery equipment safely and efficiently, such as ovens, mixers, and proofers.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Stock and arrange bakery displays, ensuring products are fresh, appealing, and properly priced.
- Provide excellent customer service, assisting shoppers with product selection and special orders.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with receiving and storing bakery ingredients.
- Assist other bakery team members as needed to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to work early morning shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
- Basic mathematical skills for measuring ingredients and adjusting recipes.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a bakery, food service, or retail environment (not required, but a plus).
