Job Description
Are you passionate about people and eager to kickstart your career in Human Resources? Bunnings Warehouse in Swan Hill is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Paid HR Intern to join our dynamic HR team. This full-time internship offers an invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in recruitment, talent sourcing, and general HR operations within a fast-paced retail environment. You will support our HR professionals in attracting, interviewing, and onboarding top talent, contributing directly to our team’s success. Full training and mentorship will be provided, making this an ideal role for individuals with no prior professional experience looking to enter the HR field.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the end-to-end recruitment process, including job posting, candidate screening, and interview scheduling.
- Support talent sourcing efforts by identifying potential candidates through various channels and databases.
- Help maintain and update candidate records in our Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Prepare interview materials and assist with pre-employment checks.
- Participate in onboarding activities for new team members.
- Contribute to HR projects and initiatives as needed.
- Provide administrative support to the HR department.
- Learn and apply HR best practices and company policies.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree/diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Demonstrated interest in a career in Human Resources.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of recruitment processes or HR functions (through coursework or personal research).
- Experience with social media platforms for professional networking.
- Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment.
