Job Description
Are you passionate about working with children and looking for a rewarding summer job? Riverland Youth & Community Services is seeking enthusiastic and responsible School Holiday Program Leaders to join our vibrant team in Murray Bridge. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in children’s lives, lead exciting activities, and gain valuable experience in a supportive and fun environment. No prior extensive experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided to all successful candidates. We are looking for individuals who are energetic, reliable, and committed to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and lead a variety of engaging and age-appropriate activities for children (e.g., games, arts and crafts, sports, outdoor play).
- Supervise children aged 5-12 years, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times during program hours.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging atmosphere where all children feel welcome and have fun.
- Assist with the setup and pack-down of program areas and activity materials.
- Manage minor behavioral issues with patience and positive reinforcement, escalating as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and fellow team members.
- Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Required Skills

- Willingness to learn and adapt.
- Ability to obtain a current Working With Children Check (WWCC) in South Australia.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).
- Experience in a similar role (e.g., babysitting, volunteering with children, youth groups) is a bonus but not essential.
- Basic knowledge of child development and positive behavior management techniques.
