Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Part Time Waiter to join our dynamic team at The Spinnaker Brasserie. As a key member of our front-of-house staff, you will be responsible for providing outstanding service to our guests, ensuring a delightful and seamless dining experience from arrival to departure. This role requires a friendly demeanor, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to upholding our high standards of quality and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and seat guests upon their arrival.
- Present menus, explain daily specials, and offer recommendations.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders, noting any special requests or dietary restrictions.
- Serve food and drinks promptly and efficiently to tables.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and respond to any inquiries or concerns politely and effectively.
- Process payments accurately using our point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, including setting up and clearing tables.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service flow.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as needed.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in order taking and service.
- Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months experience as a Waiter/Waitress or in a similar customer-facing role within the hospitality sector.
- Familiarity with restaurant point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service standards and basic wine/drink pairing.
- A passion for food and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
