Job Description

Join Outback Federal Solutions as an APS3 Administrative Assistant, providing essential support to federal agencies operating within the Alice Springs region. This role involves a variety of administrative tasks crucial to the smooth operation of government initiatives, requiring attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a proactive approach. You will be an integral part of a team committed to delivering high-quality service and supporting the Australian public sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and mail.
  • Maintain accurate records, databases, and filing systems (both physical and electronic).
  • Assist with scheduling appointments, meetings, and coordinating travel arrangements.
  • Prepare and format various documents, reports, and presentations.
  • Provide general reception duties, including answering phones and greeting visitors.
  • Process basic financial transactions and assist with procurement activities under supervision.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders professionally and courteously.
  • Support team members with ad-hoc administrative tasks as required.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • A commitment to confidentiality and discretion.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous administrative experience within a government or corporate setting.
  • Knowledge of Australian Public Service (APS) guidelines and procedures.
  • Relevant Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualification in Business Administration.
  • Experience with records management systems.
