Job Description
Are you a kind-hearted individual looking for a rewarding role where you can truly make a difference? UnitingCare is seeking empathetic and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as In-Home Support Assistants on the Gold Coast. This is an incredible opportunity to provide essential care and companionship to elderly residents, helping them maintain their independence and quality of life in the comfort of their own homes. No prior experience in aged care is necessary as full, comprehensive training will be provided to ensure you are confident and capable in your role. Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance, including showering, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist with light household duties such as tidying, laundry, and meal preparation.
- Offer companionship and engage in meaningful activities with clients.
- Support clients with grocery shopping, appointments, and other errands.
- Monitor and report any changes in clients' health or well-being to supervisors.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for clients.
Required Skills
- Compassionate and empathetic nature.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A genuine desire to help and support elderly individuals.
- Basic understanding of safety and hygiene practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Australian Driver's License and reliable transport.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Previous experience in customer service or a related field.
