Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and physically capable White Goods Removalist to join our Lismore team. This role is crucial in ensuring the safe and efficient collection and transportation of used white goods from customer homes, contributing to our recycling and responsible disposal initiatives. You will be responsible for carefully handling items such as refrigerators, washing machines, and dryers, often working as part of a two-person team. Full training on safe lifting techniques and equipment operation will be provided, making this an ideal opportunity for someone looking to start a career in logistics and removals.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload white goods from customer residences and transport vehicles.
- Operate removal equipment (e.g., trolleys, lifting straps) in a safe and efficient manner.
- Follow designated routes and schedules for pickups.
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers, ensuring a positive experience.
- Inspect white goods for general condition and record details as required.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company guidelines for manual handling and transportation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle and equipment.
- Report any issues or incidents encountered during removals to management.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to complete tasks efficiently.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy items repeatedly (up to 25kg solo, 50kg as a two-person lift).
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
- A 'can-do' attitude and willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Australian C-class driver's license (manual preferred).
- Previous experience in a similar physical role or logistics environment.
- Forklift license (LF) would be an advantage but not essential.
- Basic understanding of appliance types and sizes.
