Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Commercial Fit-out Sparky to join our dynamic team in Karratha, Western Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to work on major commercial projects, contributing to significant infrastructure development in the region. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in new and existing commercial buildings, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of safety and quality. Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in commercial and industrial settings.
- Read and accurately interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to execute work plans.
- Conduct thorough fault finding, diagnostics, and troubleshooting on complex electrical installations.
- Ensure all electrical work strictly complies with Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3000) and relevant local regulations.
- Perform comprehensive testing and commissioning of electrical systems prior to handover.
- Collaborate effectively with other trades, project managers, and stakeholders to meet project timelines and objectives.
- Adhere to Ventia's stringent safety protocols, site-specific procedures, and OHS requirements at all times.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to apprentices or junior electricians, fostering skill development.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment serviced.
Required Skills
- Current Australian Electrical Licence (A-Class or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years of post-apprenticeship experience in commercial electrical fit-outs.
- Proven ability to work safely and efficiently on large-scale construction sites.
- Strong understanding and application of AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules and other relevant codes.
- Excellent problem-solving, diagnostic, and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Current White Card (Construction Induction).
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with industrial or major infrastructure projects.
- High Risk Work Licence (e.g., EWP, Scaffolding, Forklift).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Data/Communications cabling endorsement (e.g., Open Cabler Registration).
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and training.
