Job Description
We are seeking highly motivated and physically fit individuals to join our team as Sawmill Labourers. This is a demanding yet rewarding full-time position within a heavy industrial environment, offering high pay for dedicated and reliable candidates. As a Sawmill Labourer, you will be an integral part of our production line, responsible for handling timber, assisting with machinery operation, and ensuring the smooth flow of materials through the sawmill. This role requires a strong work ethic, adherence to strict safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting. Full training on specific sawmill processes and equipment will be provided, but prior experience in a similar industrial setting is highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload timber, lumber, and other materials manually or using appropriate equipment.
- Assist sawmill operators in setting up and operating various machinery, including saws, edgers, and trimmers.
- Sort, grade, and stack timber according to quality and size specifications.
- Perform general clean-up duties to maintain a safe and organised work environment.
- Inspect timber for defects and report any issues to supervisors.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with routine maintenance and minor repairs of equipment as directed.
- Operate forklifts or other mobile equipment if certified and required.

- Strong physical fitness and stamina for heavy lifting and manual labour.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, industrial environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a sawmill, manufacturing, or heavy industrial setting (1+ years).
- Current forklift operator's license.
- Basic knowledge of timber products and grading.
- Current First Aid certification.
