Job Description

We are seeking an outstanding and visionary Headteacher to lead one of our esteemed primary schools in Derby. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced educational leader with a proven track record of school improvement and pupil attainment to shape the future of our students. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning, and fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child can thrive. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide inspirational and strategic leadership to the school community, aligning with the trust's vision and values.
  • Ensure the highest standards of teaching, learning, and curriculum delivery across all key stages.
  • Manage and develop a highly effective team of staff, promoting professional growth and well-being.
  • Oversee the school's budget and resources efficiently, ensuring financial sustainability and best value.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes respect, resilience, and a love for learning.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and the wider community to support student success.
  • Monitor and evaluate school performance, implementing robust self-evaluation and improvement plans.
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of all pupils, ensuring a safe and secure learning environment.
  • Report regularly to the Trust Board on school performance and strategic initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant degree.
  • National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) or equivalent leadership qualification.
  • Significant leadership experience within a primary school setting (e.g., Deputy Head, Assistant Head).
  • Proven track record of driving school improvement and raising pupil attainment.
  • Excellent understanding of the national curriculum and current educational policies.
  • Strong financial management and resource allocation skills.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
  • A deep commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to inspire, challenge, and empower staff and students.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust framework.
  • Evidence of leading successful curriculum innovation or whole-school projects.
