Job Description
Corewell Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Anesthesiologist to join our dynamic surgical team in Grand Rapids, MI. As an Anesthesiologist, you will provide comprehensive anesthesia care for a diverse patient population across various surgical specialties. You will play a critical role in patient safety, comfort, and outcomes before, during, and after surgical procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia for various surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures.
- Perform pre-anesthetic evaluations and assessments to formulate appropriate anesthesia care plans.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and physiological responses during anesthesia and adjust anesthetic agents as needed.
- Manage patient pain and recovery in the post-operative period.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records of all anesthesia care provided.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education.
Required Skills
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency program.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Anesthesiology.
- Current, unrestricted medical license in the State of Michigan (or eligibility for licensure).
- DEA registration.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fellowship training in a subspecialty area (e.g., cardiac, pediatric, pain management).
- Experience in a Level I trauma center or large academic medical institution.
- Fluency in additional languages.
