Job Description
Are you passionate about food and eager to kickstart your culinary career? Malmaison Dundee is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Chef to join our award-winning kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with little to no prior experience, as we are committed to providing comprehensive training and development. You will learn all aspects of working in a professional kitchen, from basic food preparation and cooking techniques to understanding kitchen hygiene and safety standards, all under the guidance of experienced chefs. If you have a strong work ethic, a keen interest in gastronomy, and are ready to learn in a fast-paced and supportive environment, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior chefs with daily food preparation tasks, including chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients.
- Learn and master various cooking methods, such as grilling, frying, roasting, and sautéing.
- Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene, adhering to all food safety regulations.
- Support the culinary team during service, ensuring dishes are prepared to Malmaison's quality standards.
- Rotate through different kitchen sections to gain diverse experience (e.g., larder, hot section, pastry).
- Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and receiving deliveries.
- Follow instructions diligently and ask questions to enhance learning.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
Required Skills
