Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Auditor to join our growing team in Plymouth. In this role, you will be responsible for performing financial audits, assessing risk, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards for a diverse portfolio of clients. Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting financial audits in accordance with established accounting principles and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assessing the effectiveness of internal controls and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Preparing clear and concise audit reports, including findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborating with client management to understand their business operations and resolve audit issues.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory changes.
  • Working effectively within a team to ensure timely completion of audit engagements.
  • Assisting in the development of audit strategies and work plans.

Required Skills

  • Part-qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) or actively pursuing a relevant professional accounting qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an auditing role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (e.g., IFRS, UK GAAP) and auditing standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Full professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
  • Experience with auditing software and data analytics tools.
  • Specific industry experience (e.g., financial services, public sector, manufacturing).
  • Project management skills.
