Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and skilled Automotive Mechanics / Technicians to join our thriving service centre in Stoke-on-Trent. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine service inspections, diagnostic tests, and repairs on various makes and models of vehicles.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using diagnostic equipment.
- Carry out vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, brake repairs, tyre rotations, and fluid checks.
- Replace or repair worn parts, assemblies, and components such as engines, transmissions, and differentials.
- Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer specifications and company safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all service and repair work performed.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding vehicle issues and repair status.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic or Technician (minimum 2 years).
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems, components, and diagnostic tools.
- Proficiency in performing vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
- Experience with specific diagnostic software (e.g., VCDS, Tech2).
- Manufacturer-specific training or certifications (e.g., Ford, Vauxhall, BMW).
- Familiarity with hybrid and electric vehicle systems.
