Job Description
We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Aviation Security Screeners. This is an immediate start opportunity to begin a rewarding career safeguarding the nation’s transportation systems. As a critical member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of passengers, baggage, and cargo at Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE) in Allentown, PA. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough screening of passengers, carry-on baggage, and checked luggage using various security equipment and techniques.
- Operate advanced security screening equipment, including X-ray machines, metal detectors, and explosive trace detection units.
- Identify and resolve prohibited items, potential threats, and security breaches.
- Administer random screening procedures as required.
- Respond to alarms and incidents following established protocols.
- Maintain constant vigilance and situational awareness to ensure a secure environment.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with the traveling public, providing clear instructions and explanations.
- Collaborate with team members and other law enforcement agencies to maintain security standards.
- Maintain professionalism, integrity, and adherence to all TSA policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- U.S. Citizenship
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a comprehensive federal background investigation, including a criminal history check and credit check
- Ability to pass a drug screening and medical evaluation
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Availability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in security, customer service, or law enforcement roles
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Bilingual proficiency
